It is with sadness that I look out over the village and see what it has become. Fawkes walks this earth, a ghost of the woman she once was. Macro has locked himself up, in fear of the damage he will cause this town and himself. While I, have the burden of keeping things running here at the Magic Guild, such is the weight I bear.
On a separate topic, our new students seem eager to learn the ways of magic, I just hope they don't burn, freeze or poison the town down to the ground in the process.
Macro, we hope you get out of jail soon, you are missed.

What will become of Arstonia Next Weekend?
Weary after a week long of domestic cleaning after the Imbolc events, I took my weekly bath and polished my wings to fly better and went into Dragon's Baine, the village Pub. There I found all the folks hovering over Lady Fawkes Devoix who was in labor with her first child. She was very brave and all the women assisted her in the Healing Hut on Saturday. At 6:16 pm that evening Lady Fawkes delivered a 6.6 lb 22 inch long baby girl. She has been named Luna Eloise and is the spitting image of her mother. It was a happy day on Saturday. Luna is our first village baby and she is already greatly loved. The lady folk will be hosting a Celebration Party for Lady Fawkes and Luna on Saturday in the pub, details to be announced later.
If Saturday had been blissfully pleasant, Sunday was the complete opposite. The town folk began to be harassed by campaigners for the upcoming Council election. The beauty of our village has been tarnished by campaign posters already. Why, as soon as I entered the Market Area, I was handed campaign literature by Lady Fawkes Devoix who was out campaigning after birthing Luna last night. My oh my.
The town folk gathered at noontide in the Elven Hall to hear the Council Meeting. Lady Tammy Connolley announced that Markis Paine, Nicola Lacombe, Fawkes DeVoix, Lyte Quandry and my Fae cousin FairyNuff (Nugg) Melody had submitted the appropriate papers to run for Council Member.
All day, Arstonia has been tense with the politician speech. Nicola wants to ban naughty Fae's from Dragon's Baine because she imagines someone has been putting pixie dust in her bed, Fawkes wants to put mischief makers in the new town stockade. Markis insists he will not punish anyone. FairyNuff was mysteriously absent, but Nicola has my Fae Lily running around as her campaign manager. There is talk of taxing magic and hiring a sheriff. It is maddening at the talk, talk, talk.
Even our good Lady Tammy who never frets over us is worried for us. She tells of seeing a a dead bird on the ground at her feet and a holy man was walking up the walk way. Seeing this as a sign, she quickly scurried back to her cottage to consult the cards and runes. She fears that these Council events will awaken and anger the gods, letting them come back to consume us.
The Council Election is next week. Crossing myself, I sit in the darkness of the night of my hovel tonight and whisper to no one at all in the silence "Saint Michael, come to thee and protect us all".
(OOC: Update - Due to RL commitments, Lady Fawkes' and Luna's Celebration Party has been postponed until further notice)

Village Council Election and Meeting
*Sighs loudly as she sits in the Scribe's Room of the library preparing a speech for the village council meeting* So much has happened in the last few weeks. The village has survived another long winter. The signs of spring are now upon us and like the cattle in the barn the dear Aasimir, Fawkes, is about to bare her own child. From the upper tower I can also look out and see that there is much to do to repair the damage done by the wayward mage. *shakes her head* how such a bumbling fool could be allowed to join the council I will not understand. Perhaps it is just the ways of some humans not to seek the perfection that those of elven blood desire. *looks back down at her paper, feeling pensive about the upcoming meeting for the village council* We are adding another to our council, I should hope that the village uses wise judgement in their selection this time. *Looks up at the sky and realizes it is nearly time for her class to begin, drops her pen on the table and dashes down the stairs to set up*

Magic Guild Showing Signs of Life
The waterwheel is no longer the only thing stirring at the guild. Dark shadows, cloaked figures and the occasional flash of light have been spotted within. From my own personal perspective I believe things are picking up for magic must continue to flourish within our town. For all those who practice, desire to practice, or just wish to pay the dues, please pay us a call. Macro is found there often, just look for the smoke and fire.
Our current hot topic of debate, taxes on all who practice non-sanctioned magic. Not so much the tax part, but what to do with the source of funds bit. Current ideas range from an open bar at the guild (mine), purchasing spell components, furniture, etc... Please all guild members, vote and vote often.
